Touchstone Tuesday: Poem XXI

I have loved you

with things more than love,

beyond the vibrant layers

of devotion

to the rotting

folds of

insecurity and failures;

I have given you

even non-gifts,

because I cannot help

but to offer you everything.

Lyrics & Love

You are poetry,

every lyric

more inscrutable,

yet more beautiful,

drawing me deeper

into a reverie

filled

with flowers

and lace.

Written Lovers

Written words

are lovers,

climbing into your heart

and changing

who you’ve

been.

Touchstone Tuesday: Poem VI

It’s not that most connections

carry no love;

it’s that so many loves

can exist only in one space —

can survive only at the bar

or breathe only within an app.

To uncover a connection

worth pursuing

is to find a love that can flourish

at home

and in the streets —

Saturday night

and Sunday morning.

On Longing

Every night my soul leaves,
and every morning, it crawls back, exhausted.
One night I followed it
down old paths
past familiar trees
and, all at once,
I uncovered to where my soul
wandered
as I joined my soul
in watching you.

Touchstone Tuesday – Poem I

This time is deceit
for I’ve felt eternity
in my longing for you
and an immortality in your love.
So, external time withers,
for all time is within you.

Firestone Friday – Poem I

She’s never been my sun;

she’s a vibrant moon,

and when her tides pull me in,

the waves crash and carry

my howl

for her.
