Thanksgiving Week: On Loneliness

Holidays are for many burdened souls

a “hollow daze,”

as the bright lights,

garish decorations,

and leviathan feasts

make them to recall

again

the empty chairs

and quiet corners.

(May you encounter an unanticipated peace this week.)
